SAN DIEGO ZOO (3.8 miles)
Located just under four miles from our Bayside Campus, the San Diego Zoo is home to over 4,000 animals. Spend the day getting in touch with some of the most beautiful and stunning animals on the planet while strolling through our oasis. Explore the amazing habits and get up close and personal with such animals as gorillas, tigers, bears, pandas, polar bears, elephants, flamingos, giant tortoises, leopards, lions, and more. Perfect for kids of all ages, our Children’s Zoo allows youngsters to discover the wonders of wildlife with up close animal encounters, interactive exhibits, and presentations. Enjoy a guided-tour on a double-decker bus, or an aerial view from Skyfari, or dine in the peaceful tree house surroundings of Albert’s Restaurant. The San Diego Zoo is a can’t-miss San Diego experience.
SEAWORLD (5.9 miles)
One of the largest and most popular aquariums in the world, SeaWorld San Diego is less than six miles away from our Hilton Bayside Campus. Get up close and personal (and possibly wet) at the hugely popular Shamu Show, or the various other exciting aquatic shows featuring dolphins, sea lions, and more. Learn all about marine life through a series of exciting exhibits like Turtle Reef, Shark Encounter, Penguin Encounter, and Dolphin Point, where you can feed and touch these majestic creatures. But SeaWorld isn’t just all shows and exhibits. The park’s latest thrill ride, Manta, is a multi-media double-launch coaster that makes guest feel like they can soar, dive, and twist like a ray. The excitement continues on thrill rides like Journey to Atlantis, Wild Arctic, and Shipwreck Rapids. Create lasting memories and experience an underwater world of adventure and excitement at SeaWorld San Diego.
USS MIDWAY (1.6 miles)
The iconic San Diego skyline simply would not be the same without the USS Midway floating at the base of the harbor. The longest-serving U.S. Navy aircraft carrier of the 20th Century, the USS Midway is now permanently docked in ‘America’s Finest City.’ Perfect for the entire family, the USS Midway gives guest a chance to relive 50 years of world history and experience what it was like to be part of the carrier’s crew. Admission to the USS Midway includes a self-guided audio tour through 60 unique exhibits aboard the aircraft carrier. Exhibits range form the crew’s sleeping quarters to the galley, engine room, the ship’s jail, officer’s country, post office, machine shops, and pilots’ ready rooms, as well as primary flight control and the bridge high in the island over the flight deck. Once you’ve toured the ship, experience what it’s like to be a fighter pilot on two types of flight simulators.
SEAPORT VILLAGE (2.0 miles)
Seaport Village is a 14-acre waterfront shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, which recreates a harbor setting of a century ago. Featuring over 50 unique shops and 17 eateries, Seaport Village is a perfect place to spend an afternoon, a day, or night. In addition to great shopping and dining, Seaport Village also features live entertainment, and is home to several annual music and food festivals, poetry and Shakespeare readings, and other unique events. THE HEADQUARTERS AT SEAPORT (2.0 miles)
