Little Italy’s newest restaurant, Pacific Standard Coastal Kitchen, delivers rustic-refined coastal-inspired cuisine that is a reflection of Little Italy’s storied past as a fishing community. By embracing local artisanal purveyors such as Suzie’s Farm, Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, Prager Brothers Bakery, Gelato Vero, and more, Pacific Standard has breathed new life into the iconic corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Hawthorne Street, alongside the stylish new Hilton Garden Inn. Pacific Standard pays homage to the original building’s iconic art-deco style, while introducing a more modern, airy atmosphere with two expansive outdoor patios boasting views of the San Diego harbor.
COASTAL INSPIRED CUISINE
Pacific Standard boasts a unique menu that highlights the freshest of ingredients from the land, and the sea. Signature dishes include Shrimp Toast (with pea tendrils, lemon confit and fresno chili); Steak Frites (featuring fresh herb maître d’ butter and house-cut fries); and Jumbo Lump Maryland-Style Crab Cakes (paired with spicy remoulade and carrot-fennel slaw). Breakfast and brunch at Pacific Standard feature rum custard Brioche French Toast with mixed berries and nutmeg chantilly, made-to-order omelets, and light, fluffy pancakes with blueberries, banana, chocolate, or all three.
BEST COAST BEVERAGES
A team of beverage industry veterans including barman Dino Balocchi (Longman & Eagle, Chicago; Dirty Laundry, Los Angeles), and Sommelier Hayden Felice (Craft, New York; Trois Mec, Los Angeles), have curated a playful selection of craft cocktails ranging from pre-dinner aperitifs to boozy brunch sippers to punchbowls, alongside a mostly local collection of beers, and an all West Coast wine list.
